Solved Vista goes to black screen

I've been doing searches on this and I can't find any information that really has helped me a whole lot, so here I am asking for help. I've attached my system info in case that might help someone gleam a bit of information as to why this is taking place.

Recently I started doing upgrades to my system, trying to stay within a fairly tight budget, I went with the ATI 5670 and an OCZ ModXStream Proo 600W power supply. My setup is Windows Vista x64 running on an ASUS P5B Deluxe MB, Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.40 Ghz, 3GB DDR2 RAM, Hauppage Colossus encoder, with the ATI 5670 as my video card. I've built this computer from the ground up, torn it down and rebuilt and this is the first real trouble I've had. I've had this installation of Vista running for a little less than 6 months.

I'm assuming it's either the 5670 or the power supply, but I'm not 100% sure on either and would like others opinions and input. Soon after I installed them, I've been getting random black screens, and the system will essentially shut off. On some occasions I do get to hear a little bit of audio after the screen goes to black, but not all the time. Usually, it happens when I'm recording TV or Gaming with the Colossus(I use Arcsoft Showbiz 5), BUT it will happen if I'm watching a YouTube video, trying to watch a DVD, etc.

At one time I thought it might be heat, I'm running 29C processor and 36C for the system, but I've had older systems much warmer than that.

Any help would be appreciated, and any additional information you may need, please let me know, and I'll try and get it as soon as possible.

TIA

Wireless USB device is disabled in perfmon /report - yet is working in systeminfo.txt. Unfortunately, drivers usually load before the the device is disabled in Windows. Please:
- enable the device
- uninstall the software/drivers for the device
- physically remove the device from the system

Use a wire if at all possible - at least temporarily to see if this was the problem. If not, uninstall the drivers and install a freshly downloaded copy of the latest available drivers.

Only 155 updates after SP2. Most systems have 350 or more. Please check Windows Update for all available updates. Prior to getting any more updates, I'd strongly suggest updating ALL of your drivers from the PC manufacturer's website.

Are you overclocking? If so, stop and return to default values until the system is stabilized.

Ensure that your Hauppage drivers and WinTV programs are fully updated. I had issues with a Hauppage card when I was using Vista.

In short, black screen issues are sometimes due to older drivers, so updating them is the first step.
The next step is Windows Updates - as they affect the drivers and they have Windows drivers in some of them.
Beyond that I suggest System Restore to a point before the black screens started happening - then updating drivers and Windows
If that doesn't fix it, you can keep trying to find a fix - but I find that fruitless and frustrating (I've spent weeks working on these without finding a solution). The only other thing left to try at that point is to backup your stuff, wipe the hard drive clean, and then reinstall Windows "clean".

Good luck!

Thanks for the help.

I was going through the drivers for everything, and while I've still got some I'm researching, there was a driver for the video card that I haven't been updating apparently. I updated it and I haven't been having any issues so far. Really do appreciate the help.
