    Changing the Raid out

Thank you for being here to help!

My object is to go from raid0 to ahci.

I feel like I have read an entire library, and have reached point of overload. So...

    My conclusions are the following:

    1. change from raid to ahci in bios (I've looked. ahci, raid, ide are the 3 choices).
    2. ctrl-I to fix the raid screen to non-raid.
    3. change the local system reg key for msahci to zero (from current setting 4).

I have downloaded Fixit 50470, have not run it yet (as I don't know what it does).

All my good files/data are off the computer and on a stick. Ready to do a brand new install...if I can just figure out which one to do when and how many reboots to do and when to do them!

So can someone just tell me very simply...."a" do this, "b" then do that...because I have already ruined one holiday weekend, a vacation weekend and several weeks of all my off-time trying to get to this point.

What did you do to mount your RAID array?
The step (AFAIK) is to undo it.
Then you can install Windows normally on a normal hard drive.

When I used RAID (about 2 years ago) I used a RAID card.
It was simple to remove the RAID card and then install Windows on one of the hard drives from the RAID array (formatting it).
