My laptop broke a while ago and after speaking to a help line they told me to restore my laptop to factory settings. I did this which meant I lost everything on my computer. When I started to put music back on my laptop it said I didnt have enough memory which is mad because i dont have anything on my laptop. it also says that my recovery disc is full so i dont know if this is linked to my memory? can anyone help me? thanks

I believe you mean Hard drive space.

Which isn't a surprise, as a reinstall actually saves all your stuff in a folder called c:\windows.old or something like that, and it can be huge.

Look for it, as if you saved your music in your profile, it may be still there.

The factory recvoery usually just reformats the C: drive - although there are some which will do less.
It's possible that the reinstall went into the wrong partition and is limited.

@Isabel
please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt window

diskpart
(wait for the prompt to change)
LIST VOLUME

EXIT

copy and paste the output to your response.

1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the CP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Windows, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.
