Welcome
You would perform what is called a repair install.

You may want to test for the actual cause, however.
Can be memory or other hardware problems.
Virus
Corruption or many other areas that can be fixed without the repair install
Always best to back up your stuff in situations like this.

It depends upon type of re-install. If you try upgrading your existing operating system then it's fine, go ahead.

If you choose to clean install, then I'm afraid you will loose you files and settings.

Please note that this whole thing only applies to files on C Drive as your other drives will remain intact either you choose upgrade or clean install.

I hope it would be of some help.
