    Unexpected shut down.

I have Windows 7 , but I've noticed many people are having this type of problem, so I decided to post here if you guys don't mind ofc.
So my problem is I went to format my PC and the removed the Vista then added Windows 7 instead of Vista, Vista was working fine and never had shut downed during me using PC because I had the power option on Power saver so less energy would be used.
I would like to know how to fix this problem the overheating problem, can I edit battery settings like Vista?
Is it possible to be fixed without going to a factory and fix this myself?
    Thank you, oda.
