Woke up to reoccuring BSOD upon reboot

thenetwork

New Member
System is Vista x86
AMD x2 5200+
6 gig ram
250 HD
OS is OEM, installed about 1 year ago (maybe less?)
Total age of parts is ~4 years

Whocrashed says its Rstpptp.sys crashing it (peer to peer tunneling service)
Does not recognize ethernet connection or a wireless adapter

Uninstalled Utorrent, Avast, Daemon Tools been troubleshooting for about 5 hours now would appreciate some help. Trying to boot from windows disk to repair system gives me a kernel error. Can only boot up in safemode

Posting here w/ the BSOD tool's results. Took awhile because it seems to be my network adapter so had to access from different PC. Tried to reinstall drivers from original cd but did not work. Don't have OS cd to repair

There is a file in the upload that's intended to be merged with your registry. What is it and where did you get it from? It looks like something to fix file associations - but I haven't looked at it in detail.

Have you scanned for malware? If not, try one of the free scans here: Free Online AntiMalware Resources (in case your protection is compromised). There are downloadable, bootable disks listed there also.
If infected, please post over in the security forums for more expert assistance.

More to follow.....

Running the last 15 memory dumps.....

Only 174 updated since SP2 - most systems have 300 to 350 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get all available updates.

You're using a wireless USB device. These things cause BSOD's galore in Win7, but I haven't seen instances of it in Vista yet. But I'd keep an eye on it as I've seen other BSOD causes creeping into Vista recently.

Your AD26DQP1 IDE Controller cannot load it's drivers. If you haven't added any additional controllers to your system, this will be one of the controllers on your motherboard. Please visit the motherboard manufacturer's webpage to download and install the storage controller drivers. If unable to locate them, please post back with the exact make and model of your motherboard.

Daemon Tools is still on your system. Please do this:
Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please uninstall the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ

ASACPI.sys dates from 2006. This is the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility driver. Please download/install the latest version from the Asus website for your motherboard.

Your nVidia chipset drivers are also outdated (dating from 2008/2007). Please update them from the nVidia website: World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies | NVIDIA

If the above doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

Thank you for the response and sharing your time!

I was unable to update windows due to lack of network connection, however i was able to remove daemon tools completely with the provided tool. The wireless adapter was used after a failed connection its not in use regularly. I was unable to find the following drivers online

AD26DQP1 IDE Controller
Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility

My motherboard make/model is: nForce 560 SLi HT2000

I was able to update my chipset drivers successfully. I'm going to hold off on attempting the driver verifier and await your instruction since i was unable to find the updated drivers.

My Computer

The ATK0110 ACPI Utility driver is located under the Utilities section at this link: ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS M2N-SLI It's the first one there and is labelled "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Win7 32&64-bit"

Use both of the entries under the Chipset section of the above link to get the IDE controller driver installed.

Cheers to you mate, sorry ive been away for a couple days hope you had a good independence day! So i downloaded the drivers you provided but I am having trouble installing the first chip set driver from the website (the Make NVIDIA SATA RAID Driver Disk.). It keeps prompting me to insert a floppy disk? I plan on running driver verifier later today

My Computer

Can you provide a link to the page where you got the nVidia SATA RAID driver? If it's from the motherboard page and you've already installed the latest nVidia chipset drivers (latest one's are here: NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.23WHQL ) then you don't need the others.

Just FYI - the floppy thing is for installing Windows on a bare hard drive. In that case Windows doesn't have the SATA RAID drivers and needs a floppy disk in order to load them during the installation. The SATA RAID drivers are included in the chipset package when you install it.
