Program Files corrupted

Hello!!

This is my first post on this forum and i hope someone can be of some assistance before me and my precious laptop have a fall out!

My program files folder is completely inaccessible for some reason.
I have attempted to complete the chkdsk however it keeps telling me the C drive is in use, even when i restart my computer. It also seems to think my login doesnt have admin rights when it does.

I have tried everything i can think of including updating windows manually(which errors and wont install), a disk fragment which starts up and then just stops, a complete format which it wont let me do without fixing the errors on my C drive and ive also downloaded ccleaner which doesnt fix the problem either.

Ive also tried completing the same things in safe mode but ive got nowhere.

Im guessing i may have to reinstall windows which is going to be extremely time consuming, plus ive lost my CD and dont fancy paying out for it again for something which may or may not work.

Does anyone have any ideas? Id be extremely grateful :)

Welcome
First stop worrying, if you have a Product key we can reinstall for free. That being said lets move on since reinstallation is the last resort.
Run a full anti virus scan, be sure to update
Download and run a full scan with malwarebytes.
Backup your stuff.

Thank you for your reply.
I always keep a back up so theres no problem there
Malwarebytes and anti virus cannot detect anything malicious either.
I usually use avast although it wont work due to the fore mentioned problem, nor will it reinstall. Ive had to resort to norton which cant detect any problems.

Although the stop worrying part i will have trouble with ;) I love my laptop
