Welcome
If you do not have stuff you want to save, you can restore to factory specs. It will be like the day you took it home. You have to reinstall updates and software
during boot down alt and pres f10 many times. (ALT+F10)

This is the reinstallation procedure I have used on Gateway and e-machines before and it worked. Maybe you want to try it:

1. Copy all your own files and folders to an external storage(Disc, USB stick even SD card)
2. Shut the PC off
3. Turn the PC back on and keep hitting the F8 key repeatedly until theAdvanced Boot Option Screen appears
4. Click "Repair Your Computer" –if you are not already on it, use theup and down arrows to maneuver to it and then press ENTER
5. Next you have to pick your country and click OK
6. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "RestoreApplication" (last option)
7. Follow the on-screen instructions
8. When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery"
9. Click "Next"
10. Click "Yes"
11. Go and have a cup of coffee - don't touch anything - for a while it seemslike nothing is happening
12. After many minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish"

Where would I find the product key number? Also says the auto check cannot be found. Tried f8 and the advanced boot menu came on but doesn't say anything about repair or restore to factory settings

The proudct key number should be on your computer. Look for a tag with a long number.

First try the suggetion by WHS, if that does not work
Download the ISO and follow instructions. You will need a key number for this to work.

You can try what WHS suggests.
As soon as it starts to boot follow his instruction.
If that does not work, make the ISO using another computer, burn a CD
Then boot from the CD.

When I turn my windows vista 32bit t5274 emachine it only wants to loop back into the error recovery mode. Anything. That I've tried sends me back to error recovery mode. It also shows a black screen and says autochk program not found
