Mouse clicks not working

Just installed Vista 64 business on a gaming system. I've had very good luck in past with this OS as a gaming platform.

I completed install with the razor boomslang USB mouse
After install I could not click on anything after login
Installed all updates and after a few reboots at some point it started working again.
So I installed a couple games and thought I was doing good until the next reboot.

Currently I can click on desktop icons but not taskbar and any opened programs go out of focus when I left click on them and I can not click on anything on them.

So thought maybe this is bios related and used another computer to access the problem system via remote assistance desktop sharing and guess what??? I have same issue while trying to control the computer remotely.

Also tried different mouse with same results. Hoping someone can shine some light on this. I am very confused and no longer its motherboard/hardware related. This is a pretty clean install utilizing same OS I've used on previous gaming rig with all the same accessories only now I've upgraded the motherboard, video cards and its a not a cutting edge system at all which normally I would have no issues with sense any bugs would have been ironed out.

Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70
CPU: AMD Phenom 2 X6 1090T 3.6Ghz
OS: Windows Vista Business SP2 64Bit
