BSOD - error code 1D

BSOD - error code 0xd1

My GF has on old laptop with Vista 32 bit installed. I believe there should be a problem with some old drivers, or similar. Sometimes it doesn't accept new software as goes into conflict and causes BSOD on a startup. F.e. KIS-14 didn't work and we use KIS-12 instead. After last system update, teamviewer stopped working and re-installing causes BSOD (both ver. 8 and 9). I attach last mini-dumps, can you check if it directs to the problem, please?

Hi,

The issue is around tdx.sys.

Is your Windows system fully updated, SP2 and the rest?

Yes, it is. In fact, as I notice, the problem appeared after latest updates installation. Since it is not my computer, I'm not sure, which updates were installed exactly. But in any case, the system is auto-updated on the regulr basis. I have made some survey already and it is commonly stated that tdx.sys does not cause the problems itself, but usually points to some driver problem - which can be the case, I'm not sure how often drivers are updated. I can upload full SF diagnostics, if it helps.

Hi,

It would help tremendously.

Do you update drivers from the Windows update?

I would not recommend that unless it it a MS device i.e. Keyboard board or mouse.

Also only update from Manufacturers websites for graphics, Modem chip sets etc. etc. Having said that I would not update sound drivers for a HP system unless it was from HP by the auto update there.

What anti virus package do you use, as that is my prime suspect....
Looking forward to your next upload.

Re: BSOD - error code 0xd1

I have installed some fresh drivers, which I found on hp.com website. Also I have downloaded HP update utility, which says there is nothing to update. Then tried to install Teamviewer - same problem, immediate BSOD with tdx.sys to be claimed. Full log attached.View attachment 28718

P.S. Oh, I use KIS-12 primarily, which stands for Kaspersky Internet Security. No problem to substitute it with any other antivirus. I made a test - uninstalled KIS and managed to install Teamviewer. Maybe it was the troublemaker! Which antivirus would you recommend?

For the history, I'd like to leave it here.
Error message was STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x1200001C, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x9750E0C1)

Solution - uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security 12 and installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Everything is working now.
