Need driver/workaround for Kyocera C2230 with Fiery X3e

I've migrated from Vista 32 to Vista 64 and the process has been incredibly smooth.

The only speed bump I've experienced focuses around a color printer driver for our Kyocera Mita KM-C2230 with an embedded Fiery X3e rip. I hear from the manufacturer they do not intend to produce a 64-bit driver.

Any help in either getting the current driver to load and work, or thinking through a work-around would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Found this on google while working on this issue myself and came back to post what I got working.

Setup the port as LPR, queue name print with byte counting on.

Use the built in x64 2k3 driver for the Ricoh Aficio AP3800C PS.

So far I have Color, Duplexing, Tray options working properly with this driver, but the finisher doesn't want to staple... better than it being a large paperweight though.

Hope this helps.

Re: Need driver/workaround for Kyocera C2230 with Fiery X3e

Hi Russell,

Do you know if something similar can be done with a Toshiba printer/copier e-studio 150. It was worth over $700 a few years ago, so I can't afford to turn it into a paperweight. I'm using Vista home premium 64 bit. Also tried Vmware virtual machine but it keeps saying it's trying to scan when it's not, probably because Vista won't stop trying to install a driver even thought it doesn't have one.

I'd really appreciate any help at all.

Thanks,
Wyatt
