| Plays with his WEI | Re: need hp 1010 driver for vista 64bit I checked HP's website, and it seems that printer is old - as in Windows 95/98 old. As far as I can tell, there are no 64 bit drivers for this item, and given it's age I'm pretty sure that HP won't write any. I could be wrong, but from what I can tell you're out of luck on this one. |

| Newbie | Re: need hp 1010 driver for vista 64bit Nonsense. This model is about 4 years old. You should try to install HP Universal Print Driver. As far as I remember, my 1010 worked fine under Vista x64 Ultimate when I first installed it. I think I used PCL 5 driver. |

| Newbie | Re: need hp 1010 driver for vista 64bit Just out of interest, you say you installed the HP1010 using the Universal Printer Driver. I've downloaded all three available types for x64 (PCL5/PCL6/PS) and none work for me. Now, I will add that the HP1010 is not connected to my PC. It is on another PC near me which has Vista 32 bit Ultimate installed on it. I had to use the HP1018 drivers which contain the HP1010 drivers (!) to get it working there. If I try and install the Universal drivers and use a traditional option I am told that there the printer can't be installed and if I try to use the dynamic option I'm told that communications can't be done with the printer. Of course, I'm all for putting the printer off my x64 PC if need be and having the other PC connect to mine for printing. |

| Newbie | Re: need hp 1010 driver for vista 64bit No. I wrote As far as I remember. I could be wrong. Anyway, it doesn't work now. That's strange. I can install the driver and it appears to work fine, but if I send something to printer it prints an error message (I don't remember which one). |

| Newbie | Re: need hp 1010 driver for vista 64bit (Auto translator) So, two solutions on vista 64 are accessible: use hp 1015 drivers (but 1010 doesn't support PCL!), but after printing few pages a blank page appears("Unsupported personality: PCL), you may try to turn off/on your printer or unplug the cable and try again and use another computer (486 with win98-$30))) ) connected to local network. If someone has any ideas how to turn off PCL for 1015 post plz cause Vista PRINTS in GDI |

| Ancient | Re: need hp 1010 driver for vista 64bit I reluctantly gave up on my old HP 1010 (my wife now uses it with her xp laptop) and on a Canon LBP-800. Couldn't get any drivers to work. So I bought an nice new HP P2015D - works a treat with V64, and does automatic double-sided printing. Even got a discount from HP Direct. |
