| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Canoscan LiDE 600F driver Hi there and I hope you can help me ![]() I bought a laptop - and then new software and now new hardware ..... all because it has Vista Home Premium on it. My problem seems to be multiple so here is the history. Tried to install the drivers for Canoscan D660U but the scanner did not show up so I uninstalled it. Bought the LiDE 600F and followed the directions (I thought) and downloaded the driver from SUPPORT-HUB (For Windows Vista™) but in my ignorance downloaded a 68bit version. It was clever enough to tell me I was wrong and did not finish the installation. went back to the website and downloaded lide600fvst1212ea15.exe (the only other vista option). Installed it - plugged in the scanner, got a 'plunk' sound but no scanner visible. uninstalled that and used the original disk that came with the scanner to install the driver, toolbox and manual only. - plugged in the scanner, got a 'plunk' sound but no scanner visible. checked Device Manager and the scanner is under Other Devices and has "This device is not configured correctly (code 1)" so I tried clicking "update driver". That tried but came back with a error message of "found drover software but encountered an error while attempting to install it - this device not configured correctly (code 1)" I feel I am going in circles and don't know what else to try. Can you help? |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Canoscan LiDE 600F driver Fixed it! Used a work around by unistalling the Other Device Canoscan, disconnecting the scanner, starting in SAFE MODE, installing the driver (got the correct installed message this time), rebooting computer WITH SCANNER PLUGGED IN. It now works. Thank you for answering. |
