Vista Tutorial - CANON MP 470 problems-HELP!

This is driving me insane..
about 2 months ago, Vista (basic or whatever...32 bit) was detecting it JUST FINE..
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for it, but when attempting to print..i get this:



Can anyone help me outtt pleaseee?

Is this printer installed locally on a USB connection or is it a network printer

Yeah, it's a USB printer

ssue: ERROR: Printer not responding / This document failed to print
Solution: Configure printer driver to correct port

Configure driver to correct printer port
On the 'Ports' tab of 'Printer Properties' window, select the correct port for the printer driver.

1.

From the Windows desktop, open the printer's properties window.

2. Click the Ports tab.

3. Below 'Print to the following port(s)' section, select the port to which your printer is connected.
Example: In this example, the printer is connected to 'Virtual printer port for USB001'.


4. Click 'Apply' to accept the changes.

5. Click General tab and then click 'Print Test Page' to confirm the changes corrected the issue.

Make sure the spooler service is started

Windows Vista

1. Click the Start button .

2. Click your right mouse button on Computer.

3. Select Manage from the menu that appears.

4. Click the plus (+) next to Services and Applications.

5. Select Services.

6. Scroll down and Right-click on 'Print Spooler' and select 'Start' if it's not already.

Try these two things first. If not you'll have to try to completely remove the drivers and reinstall them.

Thanks guys...I'll try those two things and we shall see what happens...though I've already completely uninstalled/installed the drivers

Also, make sure the USB ports you are using are working correctly.

If none of this works, then the only other solutions I cocan think of, is try tech support at canon. (I think they have online techs) and/or install the printer on another computer and see if you can print.

Problem fixed..
I'm going to post my solution out of MY OWN STUPIDITY..
I did everything you guys said, even called Cannon technical support...and nothing..so I was like WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Then, upon examining my usb connections further, I noticed that the USB cable which I THOUGHT was for the canon printer was thinner than the one actually connected to the printer itself...sooo I started pulling on the USB cable of the printer, and what do you know, it wasn't even connected.

When I went through Microsoft Training they told me 90% of the time communication errors with any hardware is the fault of the media. In this case an unplugged cord. Ha!

i need help finding a driver & software for my vist 32bit home premium ,i thought i downloaded it off of cannons site but it says its not working ,and i dont have my disk ,can someone please help me ?
