hi people

my new monitor playing up

it just keeps going blank
switching its self back on then a pop up comes up saying

" the display driver has stopped responding but has recovered its self "

also the top right hand corner when it comes back on ( D-SUB ) appears

i went to pc world
they said update the driver
so i went into system information
found the display monitor driver
clicked the update driver button
windows searched and found that the best driver is installed and cannot update

i can find the name of the driver as well
as they said go on the website for the make of the driver and update from there ?????

could anyone help me on this please :)

thanks
sean

Two options.

1. Install the drivers that came with the disk. Windows update may overwrite these drivers and cause errors.
2. List what your system specs are so we know what drivers you require.

You may want to look in your error logs, just to be sure it is the display drivers causing the problem and not something a bit deeper in the machine.

My Computer

to get the basic specs of your machine,
Click on start -> control panel

double click on device manager.

Click on display adaptor.

This will tell you what gfx card you have.

Go to the manufacturers website and download the newest drivers.

mine seems to be ok after the help above
thanks for that like

but some times when i turn the comp on
everything is blown up massive
all the icons internet everything like ive zoomed in to much

but if i restart a few times it goes back to standard style

why is this anyone ?

thanks

My Computer

It means that a display driver was deleted when everything is blown up. Since there is no "custom" driver (i.e. nVidia driver, or ATi), a Microsoft made standard driver is used. It can't display the higher resolutions (I think 1024x768 is the biggest) so everything looks retarded.

Do you know what graphics card you have? Then we can find out what driver you need :D

nVidia:
ForceWare Release 169 Windows Vista x32
ForceWare Release 169 Windows Vista x64

ATi:
Drivers & Software (Just select from there.. I hate ATi's website)
