I've been searchin for days to find a compatable working driver and I'm not gettin any love at all!!

Here's my thing... i've got this Alienware m9700 notebook and i just reciently decided to upgrade it to vista ultimate x64... I've been able to find nearly all the proper drivers save two... the audio driver and the web cam driver.

I could care less about the web cam at this point... I need the audio driver!!

It's an ADI soundMAX. I've tried using everything i could get my hands on.

The only thing that showed me a little compassion was the realtek ac97 driver... but only for a fleeting moment of a gilmer of hope.

It didn't install correctly for god knows why and gave me error code 10 stating the device would not start.

I need a solution and your kind assistance is greatly appreciated!

For the moment I will resist the urge to throw thing thing out a window and jump up and down on it in pathilogical glee.

Thanks

If it helps any i found out the the mobo is an NVIDIA nForce4 SLI AMD...

Of course they don't provide any audio drivers in the update available from nvidia. They say they leave that honor for the manufacturer... and when I gave ole Alienware a call they stated that they do not support 64 bit OS's.

It almost makes me feel like i've got a $5000 paperweight.
