value added package for x64 vista

The closest thing I can think of to a "value added" package is Ultimate Extras. I didn't find a 'valueadd' folder on the Vista DVD. What's usually in there anyway? Some extra cursors and a Weezer video?

value added package is a programme for the laptops... toshiba fun keys and short cuts is working with this programme.. when ı touch the fn key ı see on de desktop s up ((sleep mode, bluetooth on / off, eg..)) .

That would seem to be a shortcoming of the manufacturer. My HP came with 64-bit Vista pre-installed, so all the hardware had 64-bit drivers from the get-go. If your laptop didn't come with 64-bit pre-installed, there might not be a 64-bit driver for it, in which case you need to contact Toshiba and see.

Hi tospa

It's quite possible that the Value Added pack offered by Toshiba is not compatible with the 64bit version....

Plus, if you purchased a copy of Vista 64bit from somewhere else and installed it in place of the pre-installed OEM Vista 32bit...just how do you expect the value added pack to still be there...you just installed a new OS? Or did you buy the 64bit OS from Toshiba, and if so, did they say the value pack was installed with this new 64bit copy?

I get the feeling that you've installed a Vista 64bit copy you purchased from someone and installed it in place of the OEM 32bit copy. Doing that would (of course) remove any OEM extras you got with the laptop, and now you're wondering why but neglecting to realize that the extras come from Toshiba and not from Microsoft Vista. The only solution then would be to go to Toshiba and see if they'll send you a version of their Value Added goodies that's compatible with Vista 64bit.

The Toshiba Value Added Package is a package installer that has, among other things, drivers and applications for the Toshiba Flash Cards, which allows you to enable or disable the touchpad on Satellite A215 models which don't have an engage/disengage button on the touchpad itself.

I bought my Toshiba with Vista 32 bit Home Premium installed and I have upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64-bit on an AMD Turion64 X2 Dual core set.

It was extremely frustrating for me to hunt down the drivers for 64-bit Vista Flash Card Support because you can't locate them anywhere on the Toshiba sites. Which is stupid because they are basically saying "Hey, we don't give a crap that we are selling all our systems with x64-based chipsets, you better have Vista 32 or you'll never be able to use your laptop without a mouse!" That pisses me off more than stupid Adobe and their stubborn refusal to put out a lousy frackin' 64-bit Flash Player for Windows instead of cow-towing to whiny Linux users that make up maybe 2% of their clientele.

Anyway, here's the link where you can download and install the Toshiba Value Added Package x64 as well as other hard to find Toshiba 64-bit drivers for Vista and XP.

And to continue my rant may I just say that I have experienced Vista on all levels, from 32 bit Home to 64 bit Ultimate on a 4gb RAM machine and IF I EVER SEE BILL GATES I'M GONNA PIMP SLAP HIM FOR LETTING MICROSOFT GO TO THE DOGS EVER SINCE WINDOWS 98!!! I freakin' hate Vista and will be buying a MacBook Pro as soon as I am ready for a new system.

mfrey, I saw your post while I looking for some answers around the net. I was so inspired by your post that I joined. :P

I hate vista too!! Grrrrrrrr. I am taking a college course in vista, only because I can't get my degree w/out taking an IP class, and the instructor, along with one of the students, told me that once I got through the course I would looooove vista. Pffffffft... I'm now three quarters of the way through and I feel no different than I did before.

Vista sucks. I want my 98' back. HURMPH!
