Welcome to the Vista x64 Fourms

I looked at your laptop online, and there appears to be some drivers, including the bios that need to be updated with Vista.

Here's a link to your model at the HP support site. My first suggestion would be to make sure you have updated your drivers for Vista:

Software & Driver downloads HP Pavilion dv6137tx Notebook PC

Let us know if that works for you.

bossmayank619,

Have you already install the latest BIOS and chipset driver versions? These will sometimes need to be installed first for some types of hardware to be recognized properly.

You might also send HP a email to their support contact to see what they say also.

I would have to defer to what the online tech can recommend for you to do. They should know their systems better.

When you upgraded to Vista from XP, did you do a clean install with Vista or upgraded from within XP? I have heard of people having problems with remnants of XP being left on the Vista installation.

Since the driver is for Vista, compatibility mode would not be good to use. You might try right clicking on the driver installation program and click Run as Administrator to see if that helps it.

If you happen to know who makes the webcam (many built-in cams come from Creative), you could go directly to the manufacturer and get the driver from them.

Try checking in Device manager; any luck?
