Amd Phenom dirver issue on ultimate x64 sp1

I installed vista ultimate x64 sp1 on my new computer and for some reason it attemts to find driver for unknown device wich is on x64 architecture so i think its my cpu.
It alls fails allways to find driver for it , all thought on device management i see my cpu installed properly.

I have AMD Phenom 9850, Motherboard is asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe AM2 AMD 790FX, i have 4gt memory (2x2gt ddr3 800mhz), Geforce 8800 gtx from asus.

On new 3dmark my score is about what it should be and cool&quiet is working properly so im quessing my computer works properly , it just bit annoying when it allways complains about that driver.

Someone know what could help ?

Hey lnva,

Its not your CPU driver or Vista would not have even installed, Its usually something like a ACPI driver or another on-board device custom made by your motherboard manufacturer...Have you checked there website for all and any device drivers? It might be worth contacting there support line for assistance as they would defiantly know the right driver you need.
You can also disable the "new hardware driver prompt" until then by clicking the 3rd option to disable future notifications.

Re: Amd Phenom dirver issue on ultimate x64 sp1

I have looked from AMD for chipsed and for cpu , and from asus for motherboard. And Amdaway didnt do anything , voltage , and clock auto adjust(from multiplier) did work fine right from start before i did even start to wonder that driver.

For what i have found its driver for AMDLive functions , who knows what those actually should do , cool&quiet is name that is for power savings , vista has that driver in it self.

Edit. From what i found on AMD sites , AMDLive seems to be basicly term for modern computer , so far i havent found anything special in it.

Hi Lnva,

The drivers for you computer are not found on the AMD website, They are made and found on the Asus Website, The makers of your motherboard.

goto this website for the drivers: http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

Just select your Operating System from the top right in the green bar before you start downloading your AMD Chipset system-drivers for the missing driver and do not use any utilities because they are not fully Vista compatible yet

Re: Amd Phenom dirver issue on ultimate x64 sp1

Well i do have chipsed and cpu from AMD so they allso provide exactly same drivers for those as Asus does. Same thing as you get your graphic drivers for gforce 8800gtx from Nvidia even thought Asus has clued their logo on it.

And now days is very rare that there wouldnt be vista x64 compatible drivers. I have been using vista x64 over year allredy.
