| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Help! I don't know where to turn to Dear Vistax64 members I purchased a JNC USB-350 Voice Recorder and recently I used it to make a recording of an Australian Senator's speech . I am responsible for trying to get the recording off the device...now here's the problem!! JNC (the manufacturers) don't seem to offer any driver updates on their website and contacting their support team has gotten me nowhere. The problem is that the recorder connected successfully to XP but it seems to have no end of trouble with Vista. I am running Vista Home Premiuim 32bit and when I installed PowerVoice II which is the software for the recorder, there were no problems. However, getting the Vista OS to SEE and communicate with the recorder IS the problem. ![]() ![]() I tried getting an updated driver from another site - but it also seems to have problems. The recorder seems to use CenixFMC.inf and CenixFMC.sys as its driver source. When Vista tries to install the recorder it comes up with the following error: "The required line was not found in the INF" ![]() When I tried to install the driver by right-clicking the INF file, I got another error stating: "The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation." ![]() My questions are: 1. Does anyone know out there in Vista64 land where I can find VISTA drivers for the JNC USB-350 model. So far their web site has been unhelpful and after 3 days I still have no response from their technical support people. ![]() 2. Does anyone know why Vista can't accept this model of voice recorder and why I can't install the driver with a right-click action. ![]() I don't know what to do because I cannot lose this file but Vista just doesn't seem to want to know (or recognise) about the recorder or communicate between PowerVoice II and the recorder. Why did XP work so NICELY with this recorder but Vista is having hissy fits?! ![]() I have tried the alternative line out option but the quality is appalling. Buying a new recording device is not an option at present. | Ultimate SP1 x64 & x86 | Re: Help! I don't know where to turn to In Vista with this non compatible inf file, you cannot install it automatically. I suppose you have installed the proggy which itself tried to install the drivers. First of all, deinstall everything you have installed before and try (after reboot) to reinstall in compatibility mode (right click on the exe, then properties/compatibility/ you should tick XP and Run as Administrator. Try to reinstall this way, with luck it could work but i am not sure that the right path is correct regarding the registry, but if it works under XP, why not. |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: Help! I don't know where to turn to Hi adinham, Welcome to the forums. ![]() A bit of lateral thinking. Does the device have an earphone socket? If so, why don't you use a patch cable to connect the device to the 'Line-in' socket on your PC? You might have to adjust the levels so that you have no distortion of the sound. Then use the 'Sound Recorder' to record the speech as a WMA file. Alternatively, use a microphone connected to your PC and record the speech from your device via that, again using 'Sound Recorder'. To locate this program, click the start orb and type 'Sound Recorder' into the search box. Dwarf |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Help! I don't know where to turn to Hi and thanks for welcoming me to the forums ![]() I will try an uninstall and reinstall the program and see if that makes a difference. I just wish Vista would be nicer about what it will and won't accept in terms of INF files. If that fails again, I'll try the line in option. I was using Audacity to do that but the sound quality was appalling to be honest. Anyway thanks to you both for your responses. |

| XP, Vista | I know this is a really old thread, but since I came across it, people may do so in the future as well, and you wouldn't want them to go away without an answer, huh? Anyway, I was searching for an answer to this exact same question; I've found a solution, not sure if it will work for you or not. Take a look at this page: USB driver - The required line was not found in the INF - Neowin Forums You can download the drivers here: Miniature digital voice recorders Edic-mini, Micro Audio and Video recorder mAVR Tell me if it solves your problem. |

| Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | This might be a bit late but did you check if the program was 64-bit compatible online and on the box? If the program wasn't designed for x64 it sometimes refuses to work. |

| XP, Vista | I doubt if the program has a 64 bit version, since its a pretty old one, but a 32 bit program also runs fine on a 64 bit OS, doesn't it? In any case, I was just giving a solution; I wasn't able to find any other way to make it work. |
