Hi all,
I am new to this site as I have only just got a pc with vista.
My problem is... I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, they both work in vista but I have no software for my keyboard to change functions and my mouse to change buttons. I can download intellipoint 6.2 but it will not install, I have tried all the suggestions on google searches, I just keep getting not enough disk space, well I have 425gb. I will attach image. of message.
thank you for any help in advance

Bob

Re: keyboard and mouse software

Hi Bob, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might try right clicking on the Intellipoint setup program and click "Run as administrator" to see if that helps any.

Is that 425 GB of free space on the same partition?

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome, Yes I have 425gb free space on C drive. I have tried using run as admin, still the same problem, about 5 seconds of installing files, the message shows, I have downloaded the software a few times but still get that message when trying to install.

Bob

Re: keyboard and mouse software

Click on start.
search for cmd
Type in chkdsk
reset computer
run sfc in the command window as chkdsk was
try to install program you are having problems with.

What the steps above have done is to ensure your hard drive and the system files are all healthy.

Thanks Roy, I will try that, although the system is only 2 days old.

Nothing wrong on disk check but I cannot run sfc, it says I am not admin but I am.
edit... right cliclicked on command prompt in accessories, selected run as admin. it is now scanning sfc. No probs in sfc scan

Re: keyboard and mouse software

download the file again and try again - could just be a corrupted download. I used Intellipoint 6.1 and 6.2 in Vista 32bit with no issues on my old machine.

Re: keyboard and mouse software

Hi,
I have downloaded 6.1 and 6.2 several times. the attachment shows just how far it installs before message. It must be something to do with this pc, probably a setting that I am overlooking.

Re: keyboard and mouse software

I meant that it is not necessarily a *space* problem....
