Dymo DiscPainter

Sorry if this has been asked before, new to this forum, but is there a way to run Dymo DiscPainter's 32bit only driver and software on Vista 64? Any help you can provide is much apprecated.

Hi miclauren,

NEW DYMO Label Software Application Version 7.8 for Windows 2000/XP/Vista ONLY

According to the 'Read Me First' document, Vista 64-bit IS supported. Hope that this helps. Remember that you will need to install with administrative credentials.

Re: Dymo DiscPainter

So, the answer ends up being:

No, but get the new drivers, which include the 64bit drivers, and then your device will work on Vista x64.

Oh, and the other answer is egg on my face as I (lazily) did not bother looking to see if 64bit drivers even exist.....

Re: Dymo DiscPainter

Wait a minute. Is this really referring to the Dymo DiscPainter or another labelling device?

Re: Dymo DiscPainter

Dymo doesn't have 64 bit drivers for this printer. I had to create a partition and install a full 32 bit Vista to get this printer to work.

I have a number of other devices that I needed to control with the laptop. All of them only had 32 bit drivers.

It's been an expensive lesson, but the 64 bit Vista does come in handy for performing some other complex tasks at much greater speed. The main drawback has been the reduction in disk space to get all this done.

I will have to connect an external drive to compensate for this: mainly it will be used for archival purposes.
