hello,
3 days ago a message popped up on my computer saying it will shut down in 1 minute,
i thought it was normal, but it didn't seem right.
after it restarted a disk checked started after the DC the window started loading longer than usual the desktop was black but the mouse is there after awhile the start and the BG loaded and it said this 'SRV #001' "CLED error" and my sound driver aswell as ALL of my drivers are gone though on startup it says INTEL matrix manager installed but when i try to install the others drivers it always fails, i tried restore but it failed 3 times . i never did a backup casue im not that familiar with vista [nor did i have any problems]
i need to fix this computer ASAP

i have windows vista home premuim x32bit

if required i will post a ASTRA32 log

Does Windows Update still work? That will get all your drivers (though, the network driver will probably be gone, so this is no help).

System One

  • CPU
    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2GHz

    Graphics Card(s)

    Hard Drives
    1x 160GB 7200rpm 2.5" SATA
What did you do just prior to the shutdown message?

nothing , after i got the message i thought it was was of those viruses [which i have dealt with before, and got rid of it] but right after that i got the CLED error and all drivers were uninstalled [or so says my system] ive run 3 scans all viruses cleaned and mal-ware/ad-aware gone too

I would download new drivers and install them through the update drivers for each device in device manager.

hello,
a message popped up on my computer saying it will shut down in 1 minute,

I have seen that message, you had to be using a program or doing something to generate the shutdown :zip:

Have you tried using System Restore and just going back to an earlier system date, this will solve the missing driver issues ;)

Steven

My Computer

I'm having the exact same problem. I can't get the system to restore to an earlier point either. It looks like it is stepping back, but then it does the same thing when it reboots and puts me back in the system restore menu. I took out the hard drive to try and pull the files off that I need and then just do a full system restore, but I can't access the user folder because of a password on it. How do I access a folder that is password protected on an external drive? Some help would really really be appreciated.
