    Asus DRW-2014L1T - Slow copying speeds

    Hi,

    I am running Asus DRW-2014L1T under Windows Vista Home Premium X64 with the latest firmware update v1.02, recently I am experiencing slow copy speeds of DVD medias. A single layer DVD takes minimum 15 mins to copy .
    I am running a Intel Q6600 on MSI P35-Platinum Combo with 4GB RAM. Please do help guys

    Did you read the sticky at the top of these very forums? The exactsame burner is listed *in the title*.

    Please search before just posting away.

    I won't close this (yet) *just in case* none of those fixes work.

    OK, thanks for the update - I wanted to make sure.

    What program are you using for DVD copying, and where is it using HD space for temp files, and have you defragmented your HD lately, and how much free space on the HD that the DVD burning software is using for temp space?

    ^^ I use nero 8 to burn my dvds, hdds are defraged there is lots of temp space, I am facing this issue with normal copy pasting files and copyin dvds burnin data is no issue it burns perfectly in speed..

    OK, copying from disc to disc is causing massive slowdown, but burning files is not.

    Have you checked for updates to Nero? Can you pinpoint to a time when this seemed to start occurring and see if there was a corresponding Windows Update around the same time that might be exacerbating the issue?
