| Vista Ultimate x64 | nVidia driver shuts down windows Hi, I recently installed Vista x64 and it worked well untill I install nVidia driver, I've tested with 175.19 and 177.83 versions and both didn't worked, the first one kills the screen like it has no cable connected, the light turns orange and the 177 version messes up with windows, it's like suddenly all things like sidebar, start menu and all the windows start to disappear. But if I boot in safe mode it works well, if I uninstall drivers works well too. Do anybody knows what's the problem with it? (Sorry if my english is bad). |

| Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: nVidia driver shuts down windows Hi, Zangrandi, and welcome to the forums. When you boot to safe mode you are using a very generic Windows VGA driver - so no, your driver is not working in Safe Mode, it is not *active* in safe mode. In order to use the 177.83 driver you need to have a GeForce 8 series, 9 series, or 200 series card.

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: nVidia driver shuts down windows I think that the nVidia website is not updated cause these drivers don't appear for any GeForce model, at least for me. I'm travelling but when I got home I'll try with one of those drivers that the website shows. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: nVidia driver shuts down windows It shows G84, I think it support PhysX because I've installed 177.83 on Windows XP and it's running normal. |
