need fax printer driver

Hi. I am new to Vista. I used to use the free Fax Printer driver in XP to send faxes directly from any program on PC. Can't find it in Vista. Did MS do away with this feature, or do i have to download it from Windows and install it? If so, where? Or, why did MS do away with this good feature?

I have seen some other posts in this forum on this subject, but they seem to sugggest that now you have to buy a software package to do what you could do in XP automatically by simply using the windows printer driver?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the Vista Forums

I recently bought and installed a multi-function printer, which also has a fax feature. The software (drivers) that came with the printer included the necessary files for faxing.

What kind of printer are you using?

i have a canon faxphone L75 printer. i can send faxes from the printer, that is not the issue i am seeking help with. i would like to be able to fax a document directly from my laptop (say a document in Word) to someone without first making a paper copy and faxing it via my L75 printer. Thank you very much for your response.
