Im a video editor I have finally bought a DV deck;
JVC SR-DVM600E
to capture from DV and DVD straight into Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 via Firewire

my spec is
Windows Vista Business Service Pack 1
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66Ghz
RAM 8 GB
64 BIT

No driver came with the deck, Vista starts to look for it then says it cant find it...
In premiere, it recognises there is something there but no device control or anything at all...

HELP!!!?
If someone has got one of these to work on XP then I'd consider changing back as its essential I get these working asap

any ideas mucho appreciated

Hi,

I tried to do a little snooping on the web to see if i could find some relevant info for you. I found out there is really not much support for this product on the product's homepage. Generally I'd advise people to consider returning the product for a refund and shopping for a better supported product. But if you are really serious on getting this thing working, then XP is definately a better choice for compatibility over Vista. This is speaking very generally, so don't quote me on it. Sorry I couldn't help much, I've worked with the CS3 suite but never with video editing.
