To begin, please forgive my english, I'm french (yeah, well, you know...)
I have a HUGE problem
Here are all the things I have done : 1.
Received my HP DV5 1010EF Laptop that had Vista pre-installed. 2.
Formated and installed XP instead, with a driver
that enables the S-ATA or AHCI thing on my hard disk (I am not an expert, sorry). 3.
Didn't find the drivers
for the sound for XP, so decided to switch to Vista. 4.
Formated C 5.
Tried to install Vista with my brother's Vista CD that he got with his Dell.
HERE IS WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES :
The installation goes fine until the last step. "End of installation..." .
And it stays like that for ages.
I read on forums that it was because of the S-ATA or AHCI thing on my hard drive that is causing Vista problems to install.
But I formated! So the PC should be like day one!
I have tried :
Hard disk test (passed the quick test and slow test, no errors)
Memory test (no errors)
Nothing seams to work...
Please help me
