| | BD Driver I have a Blue Ray DVD installed - which is plug and play (SATA) and was working fine. after many other horrid problems experienced with vista 64 - i thought i finally had most of it resoved. So i went to install a piece of software for my daughter. put in the disk (power fine) nothing happened ? went to computer, the drive is not displayed ??? went to devices - under DVD etc its has the drive - a LITE-ON 401s with a yellow triange! when i click it says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available." i click "check for solutions" and it sends something to MS but that is it. I got to driver and update - but it says i have the latest driver. I unistall - and next time it automatically re-installs but still with the same problem..... hmmm what do i do ??? |

| | Re: BD Driver I seem to have the same problem... I've contacted Sony and they have been no help to me at all. The Blu-ray player worked ONCE and i didn't know what i did. It still plays DVD's and CD's fine but when it comes to blu ray disks the drive says theres no disk in there...I have tried different disks so i don't think the disk is the problem here.... |

| | Re: BD Driver Vista did not have support for Blu-Ray when it was launched, due to format wars Microsoft backed HD-DVD and not Blu-Ray. Correct me if I am wrong. Microsoft gave support for Blu-Ray only from Service Pack 2(SP2) because the Release notes said something about Supporting Blu-Ray. Conclusion is make sure that you have Service Pack 2 installed and all the other updates after Service Pack 2 |
