Samsung T220 Monitor

Can anyone help with a link to 64-bit drivers for this model? The only ones I can find on the Samsung site are version 1.0 (it doesn't say whether they are 64-bit and I suspect they aren't). Either way, they won't install (Vista complains that they're not digitally signed).

On boot-up Vista tries to install generic pnp drivers, but these won't install either. Device Manager shows Generic Monitor (with a question mark on the icon) under Other Devices, but Vista tries - and fails - to install drivers on each re-start.

Any help much appreciated...

Download Center SAMSUNG is the driver page for your monitor. I dont think there are any 64-bit drivers currently, Im just using 32-bit ones. I dont think its as crucial that you have to use 64-bit for monitors.

Incidentally I have 2 T220HD 22" and they are very nice monitors :)

Thanks for the link - but I've already tried these. When I run the .exe file it doesn't recognise my display adapter (Nvidia 7600) so won't install...

Yes -- and I've had no problems with the nvidia drivers and my earlier Samsung monitor. Additionally, Windows Update keeps offering me a Samsung T220 driver -- but any attempt to install this fails with error code 80070490.
It's really puzzling...

weird.. I almost got that. went with the Samsung 2253BW instead. I didn't like the Red Bezel thing.

I didn't install any drivers for it, nothing in Windows update.. just worked. Maybe I should try a driver though huh.

You might find you just have a generic monitor driver in that case.

Maybe install the 32-bit one from the link i gave earlier and then run windows up and see if it installs it properly this time.

Hi mannorak,

It seems that there is no easy fix to this problem, See; Error message 80070490 in Windows Update

There is a lot of reading to do so bear with it!!

Hope this helps

Still refusing to install for me... I've tried at least 20 times. Problem seems to be that the installation doesn't recogise my graphics adapter (the selection box is completely blank). Reinstalled the Nvidia drivers (tried several different versions) and each one gets correctly identified in Device Manager but the Samsung installer resolutely refuses to acknowledge that I have a graphics adapter at all...

Oh well, guess I'll have to stick with "generic monitor" (unless anyone else can come up with anything).

Thanks to all for the suggestions, though...

No... it's still just a generic monitor as far as Vista is concerned. But I don't think that matters too much -- I still get the full range of res settings and the config menu items all work as expected.

My Computer

Just install the 32-bit driver from the link I gave earlier, works just as well.
