| Sorry Not Sure Lol is OS the type of Laptop or what? T_T.. Windows Vista Home Premium. 64bit. ithink | Windows Vista Movie Maker Problems Okay, first off. I'm SINCERELY sorry if i've posted this in the wrong section, and i know there have been many solutions to my problem on google, yet i've tried many of them, none have worked for me. Problem: I've created a Movie using Clips in the form of WMV files and I CANNOT "Publish" my video in ANY way . Whenever I attempt to publish my movie, MovieMaker turns inactive and either a "Restart the Program" or "Close the Program" box appears . I've tried many solutions from google, such as disabling third-party drivers in the tools>options>compatibility box. I have also checked for Nero, which is NOT installed on this computer and hasn't been since this is still new. [HP Pavilion Laptop with Vista Home Premium] I've tried renaming a certain file in my registry to resolve this problem and it still proved to be ineffective ( I can't remember what file it was, but after i found it didn't work I used ctrl+z to undo the removal ). I've also tried deleting the "msacm" files in my registry, and still nothing, i've also conducted a test of using a single clip ( a random one, which i've used in the video i wish to be published ) and it works. It actually publishes, however i find that if i add any more clips, the publishing will indeedingly fail, the music i've inserted works fine, as it can be published without the images, but when i remove the audio to test if the images were the problem, it cannot publish, meaning there's something wrong with the .. file types for the video-clips i've used maybe? Please, i'm desperate for a solution. I've spent alot of time on this and i wouldn't want this to go to waste ><. If there is a way to salvage my file's contents, then please volunteer a way. Thankyou very much in Advance for your thoughts . | VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Windows Vista Movie Maker Problems Hi, Odd you can publish one clip, but not the whole movie. Can you play the whole project in Movie Maker? If not, then the clips may be ok , but combining them has somehow not worked. Also odd dvdflick can't play them. SIW2 |

| Sorry Not Sure Lol is OS the type of Laptop or what? T_T.. Windows Vista Home Premium. 64bit. ithink | Re: Windows Vista Movie Maker Problems I can preview my movie IN MovieMaker, just fine, and make adjustments how i please. I've recently tested creating a sample movie with the same song, and a few random, unedited clips to fill the song time. Result was STILL unsuccessful, so this proves it has nothing to do with the effects i use, but could it possibly be that i cannot use more than 1 of these files? I've used GSpot to Determine the File type GSpot v2.60 Results: File Type: ASF (.WMA/.WMV) Mime Type: video/x-ms-asf However, After "rendering", the following message showed; [resulting to the crashing in GSpot] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warning: DirectShow crashed while GSpot was attempting to obtain information about a codec. This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow. GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem. The codec was tentatively identified as: C:\Windows\system32\iac25_32.ax Unknown video codec #16 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can the deletion/removal of the file "iac25_32.ax" resolve the problem ? Opinions please, i wouldn't like to delete something i'm not meant to. |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: Windows Vista Movie Maker Problems Hi, That's a codec you installed for some kind of Intel device. Don't think they are very compatible with Vista. Unless you need the rest to run this Intel device, uninstall them. You can delete just that codec, but may need to take ownership to do it Indeo® Video and Audio Software Release Notes Context Menu - Take Ownership If you need to use the Intel device , go to their website and get up to date Vista compatible drivers, or if you don't need the intel thing, get the K-Lite pack instead. Download the K-Lite Codec Pack Hope it helps SIW2 |
