| Vista Ultimate x64 | Intel Viiv 1.7 & VISTA HP 32bit My Dell Dimension 9200 Intel Viiv Dual Core E6400 [2.13GHz,1066MHz, 2MB] came with XP MCE SP-2. I converted to VISTA Home Premium [32bit] . During the VISTA OS installation I did not install any Viiv driver [Latest driver is Viiv 1.7]. Is this Viiv driver essential? Will it improve the VISTA Home Premium performance? I do not have any problem with my computer that is connected to internet through ethernet in my wireless router. Thank you for your expert opinion. Snow |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Intel Viiv 1.7 & VISTA HP 32bit welcome to the forums snowshine, Fyi, Intels ViiV Processors are just a slightly different architecture, normal processors usually are 65nm architecture, the ViiV processors are 45nm architecture, this basically means that your processor has more bandwidth on the Front side bus and more L2 cache than standard architectures, You do not need to install them as they are installed when the processor is recognised by the operating system. |
