I have windows vista x64 installed. My system is an AMD 64 X2 6000+, ASUS M2A - VM motherboard. I cannot figure out what device is unknown. Can someone give me any ideas what it could be? I've used Driver Detective and it says all of my drivers are up-to-date.

It is probably the Asus ATK0110 ACPI driver. I have no idea what it is for but I have seen it only on Asus motherboards. Check the driver disk that it came with and you should find it hidden on their somewhere. It doesn't show up on Asus support site for your motherboard which might mean it is something else.

From what I read, It seems there are drivers out there that will install fine but they will hose performance so be real careful.

It's probably ATK0110.
Windows Update recognizes it so that would be your best (quickest) solution.

Re: Unknown Device (Related to ACPI) Resolved

I had windows search the drivers DVD for the appropriate driver and it found it! Something called Amd Away Mode. Thank you for your help!

Oh..you can disable that in BIOS. It's for Windows Media Center AwayMode.

AMD away mode seemed to be functioning even though it was saying this device was not installed properly. Unless I'm mistaken about what away mode is, my system would sleep and wake up almost instantly. I wonder what else this driver did. I wonder why Windows/Windows Update didn't recognize what it was.
