PROBLEM SOLVED AMD Phenom x64 Vista Problem

Hi Just bought a new pc with four 2.5 amd phenom sticks but only 1 is showing up on my systems tab.But in device manager it shows the four of them how do i get all of them working so i have 10.0 processor speed any help helpful thanks j

first of all mate you wont have 10Ghz processor speed you will have 4 x 2.5Ghz , quad core processors dont work that way mate

download this CPUID it will tell you all you need to know , heres a screenie of mine so you can see what i mean . notice the "cores" bottom right......

yes thats correct
my AMD X2 shows only 2.6 but thats the speed of a single core so yes it is at what it should be

yes mate its a 2.5 gig processor , but you have 4 cores in that one cpu each running at 2.5 but its still only 2.5 ghz , not 10

It means you can for example run multiple applications each running on a differant core and your pc will remain responsive or alot of games nowadays will utilise more than one cpu core at a time feeding your gpu with more info making the game run faster or utilise one core for physics calculations in game <<< for example

thats the point of multicore , not to quadruple or double the cpu speed , just to have more cores so you can do "more" work
