Vista - driver problem: Compocessor & SM Bus Controller

Hi every one,

i have installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

and i have installed all the drivers using the CD's coming with the motherboard and the graphics display adapter.

but still having these two drivers that i can't find them

- Compocessor
- SM Bus Controller

please, can you help me get the drivers for these two elements

PC details:

Processor: AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition
Motherboard: XFX GeForce 8300 ( 1066MHZ)
Display Adapter: XFX GeForce 9500GT 512MB DDR3
RAM: Kingston DDR2 1066MHZ 2GB ( 2 pieces 2GB each)
HDD: SATA Western Digital 1T.B

What is the model number of your motherboard (refer to the manual)? What you have quoted appears to be a graphics card GeForce whereas a motherboard would be nForce.

Interesting Mainboard kinda raises more questions about naming usage lol, but the SM Bus Controller should be located on the mainboard driver disk that would have come with the board and as for Compocessor i believe its something to do with language type of thing which makes me feel it proberly should be either on the Windows disc or from external third party like one of the following:

Its proberly not a vital thing but never really heard the term Compocessor used before.

Thanks to you all, now i solved the problem when i downloaded the nForce Driver from the NVIDIA website as the chipset is manufactured by NVIDIA, i guess that the SM Bus Controller and Compocessor are things related to the Motherboard Chipset.

should do the trick. Also do not install the two that are bolded; the first can be more trouble than it is worth, and still no idea what the second is supposed to do (can't find a straight answer anywhere ATM). Just make sure to uncheck them during the install.

P.S. here is the download page for an Asus board with the same chipset,

Just get them from the Nvidia link as the download from Asus includes everything (motherboard and video) for both XP 32 and 64 bit as well as Vista 32 and 64 bit 9Basically 4 different driver packages in one and why it is over 500 MB).

P.S. Despite it not showing in the list of included drivers there is also a video driver included (not sure which version, but one from the 17x.xx series I believe) that you don't need to install. In fact you would probably be better off using the latest video driver (180.48) for your card,

As you say it's an Optional thing and the only reference to it, I have noticed, is an option in Power Options

This is the exact nForce driver i have downloaded and used and it solved the problem.
