KME Driver?

A optional driver from KME Inc. - Input - USB Human Interface Device is on Windows Update.

I have no idea what it was for and searching KME Inc. really didn't do me any good, other then now I know about a warehouse company.

Anyone know what it is for and whether or not a should hide the update or not?

Thanks,
Josh

But I my monitor is an AOpen and my keyboard is from a company called Ideazon sooo... I'm just going to hide the update cause I don't know what it is for and frankly, I don't trust it.

Re: KME Driver?

I believe it to be a driver for 3rd party branded mouse, I had the same option appear for me after installing a new mouse. Have installed driver with no ill effects.

Re: KME Driver?

If you have tried to inquire and microsoft.com replied this, wouldn't it make you feel less confident with Microsoft, although some has commented that its safe, I wouldn't trust it still. Unless Microsoft would give further info on this update. Ain't nobody will help me fix my vista if later on, this might have an adverse effect. I guess, I'm just being cautious.

To Microsoft:

Whats up with this, you dont know who your partners are? Why do you allow this to get on your MICROSOFT UPDATE DATABASE, if you don't know what it is! Should we trust your updates?

Re: KME Driver?

Hey I just got this update today as well. After googling it and doing some research I found that KME Inc. makes like cashregisters, barcode scanners, and other devices like that. however, I have not downloaded, installed or plugged in harware from them so I am don't think I will install this update unless a good reason comes up.

The last hardware device that I plugged into my computer was a mouse, but it is HP
