Help! Vista not starting up!

I didn't know what to put this in, but I have a serious problem with my laptop.
When I start my laptop up, just normally, I log in. I have that thing where I have to log in using a username and password, something that I downloaded and put into my registry. Anyway, all the time, when I log in, it takes forever to load up, it just stays as welcome and doesnt load. I left it for half an hour and it still hadnt loaded! So, I turned it off and on again, and it worked. But, a couple of times, I had to turn it off and on about 5 times ,and when it didnt load, I had to start it again in safe mode. THEN it worked. But, I hate safe mode!

So, does anybody have any idea that I can sort this out, I will be SO grateful! Thank you very much!

Re: Help! Vista not starting up!

you could try a system restore , back to before you installed that software , but im not sure if system restore affects the registry or just the DLL files

Re: Help! Vista not starting up!

I don't want to restore everything. I was thinking if I got rid of the username and password thing from the registry, that it would help ; would it?

Re: Help! Vista not starting up!

I don't think it is the password thing. It was something that I got off this exact site.
Logon with Username and Password
That's where I found out how to add it.
Do you think removing that thing from my registry would help? If it would, how could I remove it?

What was the last thing your installed before it failed to boot. Try removing it in safe mode.

Re: Help! Vista not starting up!

Hmm.. I can't remember, as I have been downloading lots of stuff this past week, as I have created a new forum... And I have downloaded stuff for it, so I downloaded LOTS of stuff. But, it failed to boot before that.. It does boot sometimes, but otherwise, it doesn't load.

Re: Help! Vista not starting up!

Vista Basic,
This may be a Trojan problem. I recently fixed a computer that wouldnt load. It did have quite a few trojans since the person never had AV or a firewall.
But what type of AV are you using?
AV= Anti-virus

Re: Help! Vista not starting up!

Hey, please feel free to call me Tony.

I am using ESET NOD32 Antivirus. I do not think this is the cause of a trojan, as this AV is supposed to be very good.
