Invetel Wireless USB Adaptor (UR054g) (Cohiba 3887 Rev0)

Ive had a new PC for Xmas and its running Vista Home Premium 64Bit. Im looking for drivers for my wireless adaptor its a
Invetel Wireless USB Adaptor (UR054g)
Device Manager/Windows Picks it up as
Cohiba 3887 Rev0

The company no longer supports this device, i remember they havent released a version for vista 32bit either, but i managed to get it working on Vista 32bit by using drivers for another wireless adaptor (I cant remember what one)
If anyone has heard of this, knows any drivers that will work or has any they think might work please give me a link, ive been randomly trying different drivers all day, the closest i had it one that started to install but then i got an error saying the System Cannot find the specified file
Here is a screenshot

So if you know any drivers, have any to suggest or know what the above error means please post ASAP

Thanks in advance,
Eldara

its an xp driver so it might work but it might not, copy the the files to a location, dont use the executable, copy the files to a memorable location and go to device manager, right click the device and install driver, browse my computer for driver software and point the browser to the folder you saved the files to. If it works then enjoy, if it doesnt then sorry.

Hi Eldara and welcome to Vista Forums

If the hardware manufacturer no longer supports that device, then I'm afraid that you're going to be stumped. Even if you do manage to find a driver that seems to work (unlikely), there may be issues regarding security and other operational matters. I suggest that you forget about this adapter and instead purchase another one for which drivers are available. Have a look here for some adapters: Amazon.com: usb wireless adapter
If possible, select a model that is the same make as the router that you are going to connect to.

if you have a look for a usb wireless adapter that you want, then look on the vendor's website to see if they have drivers for 64bit OS'es, that seems to work, if you go with more popular companies, they will have drivers for 64bit. For example, go for a belkin usb adapter.

I want to get one from a local shop its simply called 'Belkin G Wireless USB Adaptor, i went on belkins website and it had it then underneath has version 1 2 3 4 now version 4 has 64 drivers no other one does, but the adaptor doesnt say what version it is on the box, so im debating weather or not to just get it and see how it goes

Hi Eldara,

Ask in the shop if they will open the box for you. Explain to them that you specifically need v4 because only that version has 64-bit drivers.
