Vista 64 and Bluetooth

Sorry for the stupid question but I wanted to know if Windows Vista 64 natively supports bluetooth ?

My bluetooth dongle adaptor is a BCM2045 and it comes with a software called Blusoleil, but I didn't want to install 3rd party software to control my bluetooth devices.

When I plug it in, Windows try to find a driver but can't find it. If I install the software that came bundled (blusoleil) it works fine. But then I need to use this software to control devices.

Doesn't Windows have a built in bluetooth software to control devices ?

Any help apreciated.

I checked my system and I don't have the bluetooth logo icon on device manager or in control panel. Shouldn't vista come with it's own bluetooth support ? Or I will always need blusoleil to make my bluetooth work ?

I would think that your system needs to have bluetooth hardware for Vista to recognize it, either in the form of a dongle or bluetooth built in, as you don't appear to have ot built in, then you will have to run the software for the dongle to work.

I installed a Belkin FT8001 Class I Bluetooth adapter. This item is nearly 7 years old. I just plugged it in and let Vista HP x64 do it's thing. It downloaded several profiles from Microsoft Update. It works like a charm! I now have a wireless stereo headset for my PC and my cell phone. Headset is Samsung SBH500. I just thought I would share how easy and painless this was. Way to go Vista!!!!
