Vista - No Samsung ML-1740 printer support in Windows 7 Beta

On another dumb note. Samsung has zero support for the ML-1740 Samsung printer. I had a 64 bit driver for Vista that worked in Vista.

More grief. More expense to find a printer that is supported in Windows 7 Beta.

Where is the compatible hardware list hidden?

I just printed in Windows 7 using my Samsung ML-1740 printer.

Steps:

1. Download the Vista driver from Samsung's website, the one I downloaded was called: 20070129084454453_ML-1740_GDI_Vista.exe
2. Right click on the file in your downloads directory and select Troubleshoot Compatability
3. When asked, select "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run now"
4. Select Vista
5. The print driver should install and work, I just printed the test page with no problems.

I tried following your steps jgarcows, but it kept saying it was the wrong version even though it was compatibility mode. Has anyone tried installing it in the final version of Windows & in the compatibility mode what service pack level did you select?
