| Master | Re: driver software download Hi usnavy, As far as I know, Vivitar went out of business a while ago and never made Vista drivers - the link supplied above , may work on vista, I haven't tried. I have a vivicam. I plugged it in via usb and pressed the SET button on the back of the camera. Vista loaded it's own drivers - works fine - but nothing happened till pressing that SET button. You may like to try uninstalling those drivers and letting Vista install it's own. Hope it helps SIW2 |

| Master | Re: driver software download Hi, The drivers are included in Vista and are on your Hard drive now, waiting for a camera to be attached. Vista won't know you want it to install the drivers until you press the SET button. That's how it worked for me. SIW2 |

That's probably why it worked for you. But it's worth a try since the company went under. |

| Master | Re: driver software download They are indeed generic drivers - designed to work with as many brands and models as possible. The strange thing was Vista didn't recognise anything was attached at all until pressing that SET button. Didn't figure that out immediately , and am not surprised other people don't realise it. Hope it works for usnavy SIW2 |

The generic drivers go more by type rather then any brand or model when those are used simply to make something work that wouldn't otherwise be available. Hopefully the one found at the link earlier will work out since that was specific for that model. |

| Master | Re: driver software download Yes of course that was when new hardware was detected and the generic drivers were installed. As I said , the drivers on the link you kindly found for usnavy might work on Vista - they might even provide extra functions. When I suggested he uninstall those drivers, obviously I was referring to the drivers he already had installed - not the ones you suggested he try. SIW2 |
