Mouse Pointer keeps going back to default

Every time i restart my computer it resets the pointers to default. This is very frustrating cause i really want to use the icons i set them to. Any ideas on how to make vista remember what i set them to.

I have the scheme saved.

Each time i start the computer i have to go into properties and select OK and the pointers come back. They are even the active pointers when i open properties!

i have vista premium 64bit

To avoid the resetting problem, you need to uninstall Setpoint and go to the
Startup memu typing "msconfig" after hitting run on the start memu. Even
after uninstalling Setpoint, it still remains in the startup menu. You need
to uncheck them so they don't automatically load on reboot. Once you do
this, your problem should be resolved.

only problem is i don't have that program installed. I ran a search and checked in msconfig. No such animal on my computer. Any other ideas? or a better way to find the program you are talking about?

I had the same problem, ignore the setpoint stuff, the KHALMNPR.exe stuff, the corrupt user profile stuff, the solution is real simple:

Put the cursors you want to customize into the C:\Windows\cursors folder, once I did that it worked the next time I restarted.

Note, the cursors will be the default cursors until you log into windows

I did not have issues with pointer speed, I am talking about the pointer itself changing from a theme pointer to default every restart
