Ok here is what HP just told me regarding the full MFP functionality on Vista.

Reading your e-mail, we understand that you wish to know about the available drivers for HP LaserJet 3330 All-in-One on windows vista operating system.

James, please be inform you that the full printing software of HP LaserJet 3330 All-in-One is not available for the Windows Vista.Hence you will not able to scan from the printer. HP expects to complete the certification process for applicable software very soon.

Please use Microsoft windows XP as if now. You may also login to www.hp.com to register where you can create an account to get online alerts. If any of the software is uploaded then you will be able to get the notification.

However, If you wish to install the printer driver for printing then you may use native driver for printing which will be automatically installed while installing the vista operating system.

Please follow the steps to install the native driver for the printer :

1. Click the Start icon, click Control Panel, click Hardware & Sounds, and then click Printers.
2. Click Add a printer.
3. Click Add a local printer.
4. Select the Use an existing port check box.
5. In the Use an existing port drop-down list, select DOT4/ USB (Printer Port) and then click Next.
6. Under Manufacturer on the Install the printer driver dialog box, select HP.
8. Under Printers, select the HP LaserJet 3300 series PS printer driver and then click Next.
9. In the Printer name text box, type the printer name and then click Next. The printer driver starts to install.
NOTE: The name of the alternate driver displays as the default name. Change this name to the name of your printer, if desired.
10. After the screen stating that the printer was successfully added displays, continue to the next steps of configuring the IP address of the printer.

Now for testing purpose please try printing a driver test page by following the below step :

Click on start > Printers and faxes > right click on the printer icon > properties > print test page.

If you have any other queries, please feel free to get back to us and we would be glad to be of assistance.

Once again, thank you for contacting Hewlett-Packard's Commercial Solutions Center.

Vista's been out now for......

gotta love it, I think they want to sell me a new printer but this one works so well on XP, Grrrrrr!
