Vista asks to install Ethernet drivers on each boot...

Hi there,

I'm running Vista Ultimate SP1 on a Fujitsu Li1705 laptop.

Each Time I boot, windows asks to install drivers for Ethernet (VIA RHINE II) port.

3 Options are given.

Install: which if I use, the OS will try to install drivers, fail reporting it can not find a file and continues to boot. The LAN port continues to work, all be it at the reduced 10 speed.

Try again later: which if I use, the OS will continue to boot. The LAN port continues to work, all be it at the reduced 10 speed.

Never ask again: Which if selected, stops the LAN port from working.

I have downloaded the drivers from Fujitsu and tried to update the driver/ uninstall (not deleting files) then reinstall, uninstall (deleting files) then reinstall and the Have Disk option.

All report they can not find a .inf file and fails the install.

Now, I have no working LAN port and the Rhine II is report in Manage with a yellow triangle.

Any help, gratefully received.
