Uninstalling nvidia geforce driver problem

Hi
I just removed driver 181.20 from the "Remove Programs and Features" app.

After rebooting there is still a nvidia display driver running but now it says it's 180.48 which I previously had.

Now this wouldn't be an issue if I would still se the driver in "Remove Programs and Features" but I don't.

So any help out there ?

Regards Bourne

Did you also uninstalled the PhysX driver that comes with any of the 180 drivers? Use the driver sweeper after rebooting.

Hi Bourne, try this:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
remove all applications related to nvidia.;)

No drivers from nvidia show up on the list in Windows Cleaner...

and yes I first uninstalled PhysX driver and then the forceware driver.

Could it be that, somehow, you just "RollBack" to the previous driver and not Uninstalled? I have never seen than before.

What I would do is install (as admin of course) the 181 series drivers, reboot, and then, uninstall again, only this time, uninstall the drivers first, do not reboot, then, uninstall the PhysX drivers, reboot, use CCcleaner to get rid of the registry remants of the driver and see what happens. If you go to Device Manager and find the generic vga driver, you are good to go with a clean install of what ever driver you want.

I used driver sweeper and was able to remove the drivers.

Now I'm running "Registry cleaner" and It's taking it's sweet time ... few hours running now... is that normal ?
