No driver for Digital keyboard

Since getting my Dell laptop with Vista 64 Bit I have had more problems with software. So many programs don't work on 64 bit. I wish I had known.
Now I can't use my digital piano as a midi device to record into the computer. They don't have any 64 bit drivers at this time!!!

Re: No driver for Digital keyboard

Can you try to set compatability to XP?

Did you try to install it by Double Clicking on .exe file or by Right Clicking on the .exe file and using "Run as Administrator?

I am sure there are other ways to get around your problem but I am also a Vista Noob so, this is all I got at the moment.

Re: No driver for Digital keyboard

I don't know if Vista can be manipulated to go back to XP.
I was told by the piano co that there are no drivers for 64 bit vista only for 32 bit.
Now I am looking into an interface that is 64 bit. I really am tired of spending money on this stuff.

Re: No driver for Digital keyboard

When you right click on the Icon for the Keyboard, go to Properties, then to Compatibility and then, run as XP.

Another thing is, you didn't answer the other questions, this will make it easy for me and others to help you further.

Re: No driver for Digital keyboard

OK. I am not that computer saavy.
There is no icon for the digital piano on the computer. It is a new computer. Previously I had the piano hooked into a cmputer with windows 98 on it.
When I use the installation disk for the piano it says:
You are attempting to open a device driver . These files are used by the operating system and by various program. Editing or modifying these files can cause damage to your computer.
According to the manufacturer of the piano they do not have a driver that supports vista 64 bit.
I have not seen anythiing that asks about compatibility. I clicked on the icons for the drivers and clicked properties but nothing about that appeared.

Re: No driver for Digital keyboard

Sorry, I misunderstood your first post, I thought you had already installed the keyboard and it was not working correctly.

If you were using it with Windows 98, I seriously doubt it will bode well with Vista but I wouldn't really know.

Perhaps others with more knowledge can lend a hand, last thing I need is for your to fry your new pc because I am suggesting things out of my understanding.
