Samsung ML-1610 and Windows Vista - Error printing USB001

Hey!

I have a problem. First I wanted to use my ML-1610 printer on my laptop (Vista) through wireless network. The printer was connected to desktop (XP) computer with usb cable and was shared to other computers on my home network. Well...first I was unable to install the printer on my laptop via network so I had to plug the printer in with usb (and installed the printer) and then I was able to print through home network.

Last week my desktop computer tilted and is now out of order. I need to print some documents so I plugged the printer to my laptop. Here is where the problems start.

First the Vista Laptop started to install the printer (it was allready installed or so I thought). Vista said that the install was successfull. I removed the printer which use to be on my desktop (over network) so in the end I had just one local printer and nothing else on my printers list. This printer is configured to USB001 port.

When I try to print a document (notepad, word etc.) the printing queue says "error - printing" and the port is usb001. Like my laptop and my printer just can't communicate. Printer says nothing.

I have tried to use Samsung's own drivers from their website...no use. I've also cleared the registry from any of the samsung printer files and deleted all driver files on my laptop and tried to install drivers all over....no use.

This is the whole story in short. Could you help me? Any reply would be very much appreciated!:)

My Computer

I had my new desktop computer ready and made the original configuration:

Printer - Desktop Comp - Router - Laptop

Now it works like a charm. Printer prints from desktop and laptop (when desktop is running)! Really strange....

So the real problem still stays unsolved....
