Looking for help with wireless keyboard and mouse

Not sure if I'm in the right dept.
I was given a wireless KB & mouse and I'm trying to find out if I can use it on Vista. The name of it is Eagle Touch multimedia pro XP. Obviously the XP part jumped out at me, I would like to know if it's compatible with Vista? My computer, Dell Inspiron 531 is almost a year old, I'm not very knowledgable. Any help??

Re: Looking for help with wireless keyboard and mouse

I would say Vista will install generic drivers for it and it will work but, if you want to make sure, why don't you go to the manufacturers website and see if they offer Vista drivers as well?

Besides, since you already have them, might as well try them out and see if they work well enough to use.

Another thing is, there may not be any changes between XP x32 & Vista x32 drivers... but I could be wrong.

Re: Looking for help with wireless keyboard and mouse

Thanks for your quick response. I have been googling all morning but the only drivers that are available is the XP one.
As for the differences, that's why I'm counting on hearing from you guys...I don't have a clue!
Thanks again

Re: Looking for help with wireless keyboard and mouse

Hi putermom and welcome to Vista Forums

As far as I am aware, the manufacturer is ORtek Input Device Supplier:Wireless USB Phone,Keyboard,Calculator Keypad,Taiwan/China Manufacturer. Have a look at the sticker underneath the keyboard and see if you can see a number/code there which should look like this: WKB-1000.

Re: Looking for help with wireless keyboard and mouse

I did pay them a visit this morning and all they have listed is the XP driver. Would I be wrong in assuming that if they felt there be need of an updated driver it would be there?
I just felt I had to respond when I saw your signature...I have the ashtray!!!

Re: Looking for help with wireless keyboard and mouse

Well, not all is lost yet. Have you tried plugging the KB & Mouse to see if they work? Unless you are looking to do some heavy Gameing with them, I think you'll be ok for normal wear and tear.
