My touchpad was working just fine then I began using a wireless Microsoft mouse at my desk. Then today I thought of trying it out once more and I noticed that my touchpad had stopped working without me noticing when

. I have searched online for solutions and all I saw was the fn+f7 solution. On my model, this fn+f7 solution doesn't work, instead that is a shourtcut key to dimming the backlight of my screen. My touchpad has a switch above it which is probably the replacement of that fn+f7 solution. I turned it on and the touchpad was still not responding to my input. I restarted and disconnected the mouse, still no benefit. I checked under device manager "Mice and other pointing devices" and I noticed that the touchpad icon was not there, i.e. the computer was only recognizng the external mouse, not the built in touchpad. I looked under the "uninstall a program" menu and I saw a program called touchpad in there but I don't know why it is not in the device manger. hOW CAN i FIX THIS without having to take my Laptop to HP????
Is this a sign that computers have feelings, because it's appears that when you leave the touchpad for about a month because you are using a mouse, the touchpad stops functioning; it feels that it is no longer needed
