Does anybody have a tip where I can find free Synaptics Touchpad Drive downloads. I have 7.0 and overnight it froze on me.

I have only recently bought my laptop and it came with Vista which I have been hating and now this latest problem occured.

    Thanks.

    Hi Zsofia,

Uninstall the driver and then go to windows update. It will detect your touchpad and install the correct driver software. You should be able to use your touchpad even without the synaptics driver as Vista has native drivers for your touchpad.

    Good Luck!

    Re: Synaptics Touchpad drive

    Hi
I have a problem with the touchpad as well - somehow I turned off or deleted the scroll function of my touchpad.... I really really want it back, but when I follow all advices I discover that I miss the function... This is how it looks (I attach the window which shows from device manager of mouse)... and I just found out that I disabled the right button of the mouse on the touchpad... what's wrong with it?
    Please, help me!

OK Mate, I'll help you if I can. Go to start, type device manager, Go to mice and other pointing devices, click on the + to expand the menu, Right click on Synaptics pointing device the uninstall option will be there

I would recommend that you try to update it first, before you try to reinstall it. If you do as ilikefree says, but when you get to the right click part, select Update Driver. If this doesn't work, then try uninstalling it.
